Effective date: October 7, 2026.
Audition is a live audio and video networking app. It is operated by Audition, Inc., a Delaware corporation ("Audition," "we," "us"). This policy explains what we collect, why, who helps us run the app, and the choices you have. If you have a question, write to support@joinaudition.com.
The short version
• Your work is yours. We do not use your photos, videos, voice, or anything else you post to train AI, to generate or alter your images with AI, or to sell to anyone.
• We do not sell your personal information.
• Live Stages are not recorded by us.
• You can delete your account in the app at any time, and we delete your data.
Your content and your intellectual property
Everything you upload or share on Audition, including headshots, reels, your name, your voice, your likeness, and anything you say or show in a Stage, belongs to you. Details of how we handle it:
• We do not use your content to train, fine-tune, or improve any artificial intelligence or machine learning model, and we do not allow others to.
• We do not use AI to remodel, regenerate, or alter your images, video, or audio. The only changes we make are technical ones needed to show your content in the app, such as resizing, compressing, or creating a thumbnail.
• We do not sell, license, or hand over your content to third parties for AI training, data collection, or any other purpose.
• We will not use your name, image, voice, or content in our own advertising or promotion unless we first contact you and you agree in writing.
What we collect
Account information.
When you sign in with Apple, Apple gives us a unique identifier and, if you choose to share it, your name and email address (or Apple's private relay address). You can choose to hide your email from us.
Profile information you provide.
Your display name, handle, bio, birthdate, profile photo, and optional links to other accounts such as Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, IMDb, or a website. Your birthdate is used to confirm you meet our minimum age and is not shown publicly.
Content you upload.
Headshots and reels you add to your profile.
Activity in the app.
Who you follow and who follows you, Stages you create or join, your role in a Stage (host, speaker, or listener), raise-hand requests, reports you file, and people you block.
Live audio and video.
If you speak or turn on your camera in a Stage, your audio and video are sent live to the other participants. We do not record or store Stage audio or video.
Device and notification data.
If you allow notifications, we store a push notification token for your device so we can send you alerts, such as a new follower or a Stage going live. We also receive basic technical information needed to run the service, such as app version and error information.
Permissions. The app asks for camera and microphone access only so you can take part in Stages and record content. You can turn these off in your device settings. We do not collect your location, and we do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
How we use your information
• To create and run your account and profile
• To run Stages, follows, notifications, and the reels feed
•To confirm you meet our age requirement
• To keep the community safe, including handling reports and block
• To send notifications you have allowed
• To fix problems and keep the service secure
• To answer your messages to support
Who we share information with
We do not sell your personal information. Your profile, reels, and headshots are visible to other Audition users according to the app's settings. Some details, such as follower counts and lists, are only visible to the profile owner.
We use a small number of service providers to run Audition. They handle data only to provide their service to us:
• Apple for Sign in with Apple and push notifications
• Supabase for our database, sign-in sessions, and backend data
• Agora to carry live audio and video in Stages
• Cloudinary to store and deliver headshots and reels
• Our hosting provider for the server that runs the app's backend
We may also share information if the law requires it, to respond to a valid legal request, or to protect the safety of our users or the service. If Audition is ever sold or merged, your information may transfer to the new owner, and we will tell you first if the way we handle it would change.
How long we keep information, and deleting your account
We keep your information while your account is active. You can delete your account in the app at any time. When you do, we delete your profile, your headshots and reels, your follows, and the rest of your account data. We do not keep separate backups of deleted accounts. Some information may remain for a short time while deletion finishes, and we may keep limited records if the law requires it.If you replace a headshot or reel, the old file is deleted.
Other people recording
Stages are live and other participants can see and hear you. We do not record Stages, but other people could record their own screen or device, and we cannot control that. Share only what you are comfortable sharing live.
Security
We use reputable providers and standard protections such as encrypted connections and access controls. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot promise absolute security.
Your choices and rights
• Edit your profile information in the app at any time.
• Delete your account in the app.
• Turn off notifications, camera, or microphone in your device settings.
• Block or report other users in the app.
• Ask us what information we hold about you, or ask for a copy or a correction, by emailing support@joinaudition.com.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law, such as the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your data. We will honor those requests. We do not sell or share personal information for advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of.
Age requirement
Audition is for people 17 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 17. If you believe someone under 17 has an account, tell us at support@joinaudition.com and we will remove it.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the effective date above. If a change is significant, we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect.
